Stephanie & Arusi (African Elephants) limited edition print

$195.00$295.00

Stephanie and Arusi found each other in 2016 when six elephants from Swaziland arrived at the Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita. Stephanie – alone for the last two years since her companion died – was suddenly the matriarch of a family of seven and living in a brand new 5-acre habitat with lakes, waterfalls, living trees and grass everywhere.

The first introductions that were made were between Arusi and Stephanie. Both made it clear they wanted to be together. Of the six who came, Arusi was the smallest and perhaps the “orphan” of the group. She was also born tuskless.

Stephanie, on the other hand, grinds her own tusks down daily so they are out of sight. She’s done this for years. These two are now bonded and family. Arusi has a new mother figure. Stephanie, after 45 years without a family, is suddenly the head of one. I can only imagine.

These luscious richly-colored giclée prints are from a limited edition of 250, professionally printed to order, and signed and numbered by the artist. Only a small portion of the artist’s paintings are available as prints.
