Stephanie was 45 when I met her in 2016 at the Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita. Her life had just radically changed for the better when she moved to a new large grassy habitat and became the matriarch of a family of seven. She is actually a tusked elephant, but grinds down her ivory every day for reasons no one knows. On her last set of molars, every night she opens her mouth wide so her keepers can reach inside and clear the impacted hay from her teeth.
These luscious richly-colored giclée prints are from a limited edition of 250, printed to order, and signed and numbered by the artist. Only a small portion of the artist’s paintings are available as prints.
