He was a tree root from my mountain home outside Boulder. The hat is a ring of leather, the wood sanded and shaped above. The holster buckle is a tie-tac of my father’s and his guns are made by me from Sculpey, painted silver. The arms are smaller roots attached.

The cowboy was there, swagger and all. A little Gary Cooper maybe, “High Noon.”  He needed little embellishment. He stands on a glass base.
