Agathe (California Condor) limited edition print

$195.00

I have never met Agathe. I painted her portrait and Theo’s pre-2015 when I was still working from found reference images. I did go to visit the very lovely Santa Barbara Zoo perched above the Pacific. They were one instrumental element in the conservation partnership that brought these magnificent, environmentally-important, gorgeously-ugly birds back from the brink of extinction. The condors I met in Santa Barbara can no longer survive in the wild due to broken wings or something. And they weren’t as beautiful as these two.

It is my understanding the face of each condor is so specific that someone who knew more than I might look at these and know their actual names. They are the only two pre-2015 animal portraits for which I offer prints. That’s because I love these two so much.

These luscious richly-colored giclée prints are from a limited edition of 250, printed to order, and signed and numbered by the artist. Only a small portion of my paintings are available as prints.

His original oil portrait is 16″x16″ so only the smallest prints are available.
