Mandrills are the largest of the monkeys – which means they have tails. The males especially have an amazing coloration on their faces.
They are also very dangerous. I have watched keepers pass treats through the chain link of their enclosure using a tool because they day not let their hand be reachable by the mandrill. I photographed this guy in Cleveland.
These FRAMED portraits are 11×14, oil on canvas board. I painted most of them in the winter and spring of 2018/19 because I needed to sit to work. A slow-healing foot injury had me off my feet.
