Airborne

$1,200.00

Airborne was one of the first of my Story Paintings that became magical. The young girl floats on her magic carpet above a landscape that includes a town from the background of a Hieronymous Bosch painting.

The young girl is the artist’s grandmother, Vivian, at 10 years old in 1909. She was photographed with a woven throw the pattern of which inspired the flying carpet, and the painting grew from there.
